Because of COVID-19, there’s extra time to enroll.

Medi-Cal and Covered California use the same application. After you enter your information, you will find out whether you qualify for Medi-Cal or Covered California.

After you pick a plan, select the Pay Now button to make your first payment. You’ll receive a membership ID card from your health insurance company after it receives this payment.

If you decide not to pay online, you’ll get a bill from your health insurance company about two weeks after it receives your application.

Coverage will start on the first day of the month following plan selection for these life events: 

• Needing coverage due to COVID-19.
• Losing Medi-Cal or job-based coverage (if you apply and select a plan before the last day of your Medi-Cal or employer coverage, your new coverage starts on the first day of the month after the loss).
• Marriage or registered domestic partnership.
